Kitty Security blanket

Image
Happy saturday my friends!!  Today I bring to you this Kitty Security blanket also called blankie or lovey.💞 According to studies these blankies are very beneficial to a child’s development; Mostly introduced, after the first two months of closed bond between a baby and it's mom; it's said to be seen as an extension of the mom,.. when she  is gone, the blanket gives a baby comfort and reminds him or her of its mother. As a child grows into a toddler, this same blanket helps relieve stress and anxiety when dealing with different situations. The Lovey gives them comfort and reassurance. This kitty security blanket was crocheted with baby yarn on pastels colors, the head and arms made with amigurumi technique.  Hope you like it! 🌹 Credits : By Petus Ochoa

Amigurumi Barbie doll

Image
Happy Sunday!!!! Barbie dolls have been on the market for almost 60 years! Uncountable girls played with Barbies during their childhood, but to be honest, I wasn't a fan of these dolls, the only Barbie I had was a birthday present and I kept her in her case until today. 😊 Looking on the internet, I found a pattern that caught  my attention due the very detailed shape of the body, so I decided to give it a try on making "my version of a Barbie doll". Let me tell you that I have been doing this project for almost a month, it was a little hard since the pattern is in Turkish, also I challenged myself by doing the hair... guess what! It is a wig!! made with yarn wefts, another hard task!. This amigurumi doll is made in 100% cotton thread, her eyes painted over fabric with acrylic paint,  and her outfit crocheted with mercerized cotton thread. I am very happy with the final result!   Hope you like it. Credits: doll body by Nursensensoy.                Wefts by M

Rita the Rabbit - amigurumi

Image
Happy Sunday! Today I share with you this cute amigurumi project that kept me busy for the last two weeks. "Lalylala" is one of my favorite dolls designers, when I saw Rita the Rabbit, I fell so in love with her that I wanted to give it a try. I love her floppy ears and the cross stitch Rose design on her belly, I did some modifications by using tan color on face and hands, shortening the arms and embroidering a little pink nose and eyelashes over her safety eyes..... I am so happy with the way she turned out! Hope you like it! Design & Pattern by Lydia Tresselt / Rita the Rabbit

Valentina, my amigurumi doll!

Image
Good Sunday Everyone! Today, let me introduce to you my first "customized" amigurumi doll, I really wanted to do this kind of project, and getting that opportunity,  I didn't hesitate a bit on acccepting this challege. This doll is all made with 100% cotton thread, I embroidered the eyes and used synthetic hair to make her look more natural. I also crocheted her dress, shoes and her bouquet of flowers.  I enjoyed so much making this doll! Meet Valentina!,... she will travel overseas to her new home in Peru ❤ Hope you like it! Meet Paulette

Image
Good Saturday Everyone! Today I share with you this tiny doll. She is just 7 inches tall, it was a little harder to work with tiny pieces, my hands got tired easily,  but I am very happy with the results. This time, I used fabric and acrylic paint to do the eyes rather than embroider them. I also decided to use synthetic curly hair, and I think both options turned out well. Meet Paulette, my tiny amigurumi Doll. Hope you like it.

Meet Raelyn

Image
Hello Everyone, today I share with you another customized doll... Let me confess, the first time I saw the picture of this pretty girl I fell in love with her curls so, this time, I challenged myself and crocheted her hair, and, I am so happy with the result. Also in this project I gave it my best shot to do the combed yarn technique on her amigurumi doggies ... what do you think??? Meet Raelyn, the sweet girl that loves to play with her poodle pups...  "Raelyn " is off to her new home! Hope you like it!

Lilly doll; Why amigurumi don't have mouths?

Image
Searching  on the internet, I found uncountable doll models, all beautiful,   but there are some that took my attention, these dolls have not noses and mouths,  even though they are still cute to me, and I gave a shot on making one from CAROCreated ,  I still I wanted to know the reason of their peculiar features.  This started with Santoro Gorjuss and Julia Puppen,  their dolls don't have any noses and mouths, introducing to some other designers this unique style.  The main idea here is that  we can feel the connection with the doll, that seems to reflect our mood,  whatever mood we are in,  for example,  if we look at the doll’s face when we are sad, the doll would seem to be in empathy with our sadness,  and provide comfort and companionship.  Same way if we’re happy, the doll looks back at us with excitement. How can it be  possible?....  We see the soulful eyes, or the excited cheeks, and we feel the doll shares our emotion,  and sort of validates our feelings.... How cool is

"Love" , amigurumi doll
